The one-liner
Boilerplate
Short: Headshot Station is a platform for photographers who run branded headshot booths at live events — conferences, corporate offsites, trade shows. It handles the whole flow: QR signup, a live shooting queue, tethered auto-upload from Capture One, instant branded gallery delivery to every attendee, a sponsor lead portal, and in-gallery retouch sales paid directly to the photographer's own Square account. Founded by Dallas event photographer Erick Johnson, who built it to run his own booth business. It's $99/month with a free rehearsal mode, at headshotstation.app.
Long: Headshot Station began as one photographer's fix for the chaos of shooting corporate headshots at scale: hundreds of attendees at an event, followed by nights of manual delivery and retouch orders slipping through the cracks. Dallas event and headshot photographer Erick Johnson built software to run his own booth end to end — attendees scan a QR code to join a live queue, every tethered shot routes to the right person automatically, and each attendee receives a branded gallery by email moments after stepping away from the camera. Sponsors get a branded portal with a clean lead list; attendees can order retouches and downloads in the gallery, paid straight to the photographer's Square account — the platform never touches the money. After running his own events on it, Johnson opened it up as a product in 2026. Photographers can rehearse the entire workflow free (no card, no time limit) and go live for $99/month when they take it to a real event, backed by a first-event guarantee.

The founder story
Erick Johnson is a working event and headshot photographer in Dallas. Frustrated by the manual grind that followed every high-volume headshot booth — sorting hundreds of files by hand, emailing galleries one by one, chasing retouch payments — he taught himself to build the software he wished existed. Headshot Station ran his own conference booths first: real events, real sponsors, real lines of attendees. The product photographers use today is the same system, hardened on live event floors, opened up so any photographer can run a branded headshot operation of their own.
Erick shoots Nikon, tethers through Capture One, and still works event floors in DFW — which is where most product decisions come from.
